years advising founders and their teams

About Owen

I started Verdix to be the lawyer I would want to call

After twelve years in large firms, I kept seeing the same thing: good people paying for layers of partners and juniors, and waiting days for an answer. Verdix is the opposite. One experienced lawyer, direct access and fees you agree before anything starts.

I work with founders, managers and employees across England and Wales, mostly on employment disputes, contracts and settlement agreements.

Fieldnote Studio

“We were weeks from losing a key hire over a contract dispute. Owen untangled it in days, explained every option in plain English and found terms both sides could live with.”

Co-founder and CEO, Fieldnote Studio

Halvora

“I came to Owen after a grievance had already gone wrong. He told me exactly where we stood, what to fix first and what it would cost. Three weeks later it was closed.”

Elena Marsh

Head of People, Halvora

Kestwick

“We needed founder agreements before our seed round and had a week. Owen drafted them, walked both of us through every clause and kept to the fixed fee he quoted on day one.”

Yes. The first 30 minutes are free and come with no obligation. If I cannot help, I will tell you, and point you to someone who can.

We split your matter into stages. Each stage has a fixed fee, agreed in writing before it starts. If something changes, we agree the new fee first.

Yes. A settlement agreement only binds you if you have had independent legal advice on it, and most employers contribute towards that advice.

Within one working day, and usually the same day. Urgent deadlines are flagged on our first call so nothing is missed.

Yes. Most of my work happens by phone, video and email, so I work with clients across England and Wales.

Your contract, any letters or emails about the issue and a short timeline of what happened. A rough note is fine.
